Betrifft: Alle WACOM-Tablets in den Hörsälen und zentral verwaltete PC-Pools am CGM: 0.208, 2.106, 2.107, 2.108, 2.109, 2.110, 2.206.
Zeitpunkt der Umstellung: 30.05.2026
Die Anmeldung an allen zentral verwalteten Geräten, welche mit dem Gummersbacher Active Directory verbunden sind, wird auf den Login mit der CampusID umgestellt. Sie benötigen ab diesem Zeitpunkt nicht mehr zwingend eine GMID für die Anmeldung an den WACOM-Tablets in den Hörsälen oder an den PCs in den PC-Pools.
Diese Änderung betrifft ausschließlich die lokale Anmeldung an den WACOM-Tablets und den PC-Pool-PCs – die Anmeldung an anderen Systemen, welche noch die GMID verwenden, ist hiervon nicht betroffen! An diesen Systemen authentifizieren Sie sich bitte wie gewohnt mit ihrer GMID, sofern keine anderen Hinweise zwischenzeitlich erfolgt sind.
Da der Umstieg unter Umständen Fragen aufwirft, werfen Sie bitte unbedingt einen Blick auf folgende FAQs:
- Gibt es wieder ein Home-Laufwerk (Z:) zum Ablegen von Dateien?
- Ja, nach dem Login mit der CampusID finden Sie über den Dateiexplorer wie gewohnt ein Z:-Laufwerk, auf welchem Sie Dateien sicher ablegen können.
- ACHTUNG: Dieses Z:-Laufwerk ist nicht das selbe, wie beim Zugriff über die GMID. Dateien des alten Z:-Laufwerks sind daher nicht verfügbar und werden auch nicht automatisiert umkopiert! Wenn Sie auf Dateien Ihres alten GMID-Laufwerks zugreifen möchten, lesen Sie bitte den nächsten Hinweis.
- Wie kann ich auf die Daten meines alten Z:-Laufwerks zugreifen?
- Nach dem Login sollten Sie auf dem Desktop eine Datei GMID-Laufwerk verbinden.bat vorfinden. Führen Sie das Skript mit einem Doppelklick aus und folgen Sie den Anweisungen. Bei erfolgreicher Prüfung Ihrer GMID-Daten wird Ihr altes Home-Laufwerk im Datei-Explorer erstellt. Anschließend können Sie die Dateien auf das neue Z:-Laufwerk umkopieren.
- Wie kann ich auf meine Dateien auf dem Desktop, dem Dokumente-Ordner etc. zugreifen?
- Vor jedem Login wird Ihnen dringend empfohlen, keine Dateien auf dem Desktop, dem Dokumente-Ordner oder sonst lokal auf dem PC zu speichern. Sollten Sie dennoch Dateien lokal an diesen Orten abgelegt haben, kopieren Sie diese bitte auf Ihr altes Z:-Laufwerk und greifen Sie auf dieses wie oben beschrieben nach dem Login mit der CampusID zu. Sollten sie das versäumt haben, lesen Sie bitte den nächsten Hinweis zum Login mit der GMID.
- Kann ich mich weiterhin mit der GMID nach erfolgter Umstellung einloggen?
Ja, bis auf weiteres wird ein Login mit der GMID nicht unterbunden. Allerdings muss dem PC mitgeteilt werden, dass ein anderer Anmeldeserver kontaktiert werden soll. Das passiert, indem Sie beim Benutzernamen das Suffix @GM (also <GMID>@GM) anhängen, um den Login auf den Gummersbacher Anmeldeserver umzuleiten.- Verwenden Sie für den Login mit der GMID daher bitte als Benutzernamen Ihre alte GMID@GM (bspw. infXXXX@GM) und ihr GMID-Passwort.
- Sofern nicht anders erforderlich, empfehlen wir ab der Umstellung die Anmeldung mit der CampusID.
- [Betrifft nur Nutzer des Hochschuldesktops!] – Sind der Arbeitsordner und das Z:-Laufwerk dasselbe?
- Jein – Die Inhalte des Arbeitsordners sind eine lokale Kopie Ihres Z:-Laufwerks auf Ihrem persönlichen Notebook oder Desktop-PC. Die Synchronisierung zwischen dem Arbeitsordner und des Z:-Laufwerks erfolgt zeitverzögert. Da die PCs in den PC-Pools eine zuverlässig und dauerhafte Anbindung an das Hochschulnetz haben, können Sie problemlos das Z:-Laufwerk verwenden.
- ACHTUNG: Bitte vermeiden Sie es parallel mit Ihrem Notebook über den Arbeitsordner an geöffneten Dateien im PC-Pool zu arbeiten. Dann können unerwartete Synchronisierungsprobleme auftreten!

Login on all centrally managed devices connected to the Gummersbach Active Directory will be switched to CampusID login. From this date forward, you will no longer need a GMID to log in to the WACOM tablets in the lecture halls or the PCs in the PC pools.
This change applies exclusively to local logins on the Wacom tablets and PC pool computers – logins on other systems that still use the GMID are not affected! Please authenticate on these systems as usual with your GMID, unless otherwise notified in the meantime.
Since the transition may raise questions, please be sure to review the following FAQs:
- Is there a Z: drive available again for storing files?
- Yes, after logging in with your CampusID, you will find a Z: drive in File Explorer as usual, where you can securely store your files.
- ATTENTION: This Z: drive is not the same as the one accessed via GMID. Files from the old Z: drive are therefore not available and will not be automatically copied over! If you want to access files from your old GMID drive, please read the next note.
- How can I access the data on my old Z: drive?
- After logging in, you should find a file named GMID-Laufwerk verbinden.bat on your desktop. Double-click to run the script and follow the instructions. If your GMID data is verified successfully, your old home drive will be created in File Explorer. You can then copy the files to the new Z: drive.
- How can I access my files on the desktop, in the Documents folder, etc.?
- Before each login, we strongly recommend that you do not save any files on the desktop, in the Documents folder, or anywhere else locally on your PC. If you have nevertheless saved files locally in these locations, please copy them to your old Z: drive and access them as described above after logging in with your CampusID. If you have failed to do so, please read the next note regarding logging in with your GMID.
- Can I still log in with my GMID after the transition?

- Yes, logging in with the GMID will not be restricted for the time being. However, you must inform the PC that it should contact a different login server. To do this, append the suffix @GM (i.e., <GMID>@GM) to your username to redirect the login to the Gummersbach login server.
- Therefore, when logging in with your GMID, please use your old GMID@GM (e.g., infXXXX@GM) as the username and your GMID password.
- Unless otherwise required, we recommend logging in with your CampusID after the transition.

- [Applies only to users of the university desktop!] – Are the Work Folder and the Z: drive the same thing?
- Yes and no – The contents of the Work Folder are a local copy of your Z: drive on your personal laptop or desktop PC. Synchronization between the Work Folder and the Z: drive occurs with a time delay. Since the PCs in the PC pools have a reliable and permanent connection to the university network, you can use the Z: drive without any problems.
- ATTENTION: Please avoid working on files opened in the PC pool at the same time as on your laptop via the Work Folder. This can cause unexpected synchronization issues!
