We were able to develop an agent which learns Connect-4 nearly perfectly just from self-play. Our Java-based <span style=\"color: #00f\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.gm.fh-koeln.de\/konen\/projects\/games\/connect-4\/\"><strong>Connect-4 Game Playing Framework (C4GPF)<\/strong><\/a><\/span> is now <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><em>open-source<\/em>\u00a0for interested researchers<\/span>. <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.gm.fh-koeln.de\/konen\/projects\/games\/connect-4\/\">Read more&#8230;<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">The long-term goal of our research group is it to transfer these learning strategies to other games as well <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">(2048, dots-and-boxes, go, chess, checkers, Abalone, Sim, &#8230;). The related research field is known as <span style=\"color: #00f\"><strong>General Game Playing (GGP)<\/strong><\/span>.
